The continental was designed to fill a user need for a pontoon boat that featured a full glass windshield. The goal was to design a pontoon boat that would compete with fiberglass boats from a price and feature standpoint. I created profile renderings of a boat with a windshield that was fully integrated into the side rail. Integrating the windshield into the fence opened the door to create a better functioning windshield and a sexy look. I managed this project from inception to the completion of two prototypes in order to meet production and market introduction deadlines. I selected the vinyl, foam and created component renderings of the boats interior. I also created the 3D model, which was used to build the plugs and fiberglass molds for production.
